I Will Survive

I have two injured toes right now. On my left foot, I'm missing a little less than half of my toenail. On my right foot, I jammed my toe and possibly broke it. Yesterday, against my better judgement, cute heels won out over sensible flats. Then Ella stepped on my toe and it was all over, I went barefoot for the rest of the day. So today, while I was wearing flip-flops, Jack stepped on the same toe. Often when Jack gets a small hurt I'll teasingly ask if he'll survive. So when he stepped on my toe I winced and he said, "What's wong Mom?" I said, "you stepped on my toe." He looked at me like I was a big baby and said, "I pink you'll burbibe."
