In the car today, just Ella and me, Ella asked, "Why do I still have to ride in a booster seat?"
Me: "Well, when Maisy was in the hospital I saw so many bad things and I want to keep you safe. Plus I really don't want to visit another of my kids in the hospital."
Ella: "Especially your most importantest."

I laugh.
Ella: "What? I AM your most importantest."
Me, still laughing: "You are."
Ella: "Yes, why are you laughing?"
Ella, a few minutes later: "Its not funny, its true."

It is true! :)
You can tell her that our 10 1/2 year olds who are no where near 4' 9" are still using boosters because they simply aren't tall enough yet for the seat belt to fit them. Why put them in the appropriate car seats and boosters for all these years and then just quit caring?! Guess it's also influenced by having a health care professional in the home who's seen what happens in car wrecks.
You can tell sweet Ella that Sarah still rides in a booster seat as well! It just makes a mommy and daddy feel more secure. I love that girl!
