Jack has his first birthday party to go to. Unfortunately he might miss it, because he is sick, we'll have to see. I have yet to tackle a little boy birthday present and I was half tempted to head out to the store.
But I remembered this
great tutorial I saw last summer and thought with a little navy ticking stripe and one of the wonderful train whistles I found at Pier 1, we might have the beginning of some fun choo choo days. I know this little guy loves Baby Einstein and I'm not sure how he feels about trains, but I think the engineer hat turned out quite cute. Sadie and Ella have requested pink engineer hats.
After purchasing a very confusing and poorly written pattern I have been trying to decipher to make a baby blanket, I am thrilled that someone took the time to write a clear and well written tutorial and then gives it out for free. I might have to make a few more hats. Maybe a red wool one for Ella to wear next winter.

It turned out really cute. I've had that tutorial bookmarked for a while - I think I've finally found some material that will be suitable. I hope it turns out half as well as your did.
