I stayed up way too late. Somehow I thought it would be a good idea to make
pettiskirts for the two older girls (not great for crawlers) to wear to church the Sunday before Christmas. However, it didn't occur to me until the Tuesday before that this past Sunday was that day.

Unfortunately the week was pretty well scheduled out, so Thursday I started on the skirts. Each one is 1/4 yard of satin and 6 yards of
chiffon.

Sadie's lower ruffle took me four hours to sew on and I am not exaggerating. I figured out with Ella's that I needed to cut more fabric before I started sewing, so her ruffle only took two hours, it was 2912" x 2".

Finally, on Saturday, after hours of cutting, sewing, gathering, and serging I had two skirts. But it was four o'clock in the morning and church starts at 9:00 AM. So I got a couple hours sleep and then woke up the girls to show them their skirts.

Their squeals of delight made it worth it. Christmas a little early. I still have enough chiffon to make three more skirts, but I may have to wait a few months before I try that again!
