Did you know that you can embroider on just about anything? When Maisy was in the hospital I would embroider little onesies. I've also embroidered on undershirts for Sadie and Ella, leggings, tote bags. One of these days I want to try this. I have a little gallery of the kids artwork upstairs and I love the idea of doing something with all the beautiful art we acquired through the years.
I do have my favorite embroidery patterns, here and here. And you can get some tips on stitches here. I don't get too elaborate with my stitches, I guess you could say my style is more primitive, mostly I use the back stitch.
It's also a great way to begin sewing with kids. I want to try teaching using burlap and a blunt tapestry needle, I think it might work better. My husband teased me because I gave my brother an embroidery kit from Sublime Stitching for Christmas one year. I don't know if he tried, but I know I like it.

I love embroidery! I made a pattern one year for a Christmas pillow! I will find one and bring it to you!
Emily-I would love that.
